Well it seems that WordPress is a bunch of greedy bastards that feel that I should pay more money to have a domain that I payed for forwarded to my blog. Retarded.

Well, it has been a while. I don’t know if I am going to start blogging on a regular basis because school is just suck a time suck. Reviews are boring so I guess I will not do those anymore. Maybe I will make a music blog or something. Who knows. I will think about it for a bit and maybe start posting. Maybe.

I finally have enough time to write a blog post now that school is over. It was a long term with a lot of C++ work so I really didn’t have time.

Going home on Friday! Yay!

I am almost all ready to go home just have to wait for the sister and mother to come down.

So this summer I will definitely be blogging more. Some reviews and other random picture I decide are worthy to be posted.

Reviews… Hmmm. I will post a review of the Logitech MX Revolution mouse, Logitech G15 keyboard, Logitech XBOX 360 universal remote, and maybe the Razer Destructor mousing surface in the coming months. Who am I kidding? How much can I say about a mouse pad?

The Logitech G9 Laser Gaming Mouse is Logitech’s entry into the high-end wired gaming mouse market. They have many other gaming mice like the G5 and the MX518 but this one trumps them all. I got this mouse for around $99 at Frys Electronics but I was inpatient and could have found it  for a lower price on the interwebs. My sources tell me you can get it for about $82 with free shipping from Buy.com, my sources being my brain.

Aesthetics

This is one of the most sturdy mice I have ever used. The plastic is very high-quality and the finish is very smooth. The mouse comes with 2 different hand grips. One is wide that has a thumb rest and a very smooth finish (shown above), and the other is skinny and it has a nice texture to it (better grip for intense gaming sessions). This mouse is also blessed with the exclusive Logitech MicroGear™ Precision Scroll Wheel. This scroll wheel is excellent. You can choose between click-to-click scrolling (very useful in games for switching weapons on the fly), or smooth frictionless scrolling for flying through long documents. On the top of the mouse there is a small LED panel that shows the profile and sensitivity that you have the mouse set to. The colors of the LEDs are completely customizable for each profile you set. Right above the screen there are two buttons for adjusting the sensitivity of the mouse. On the side of the mouse there are two buttons that can be programmed to do anything (by default, Back and Forward). When you remove the grip there is a small insert that slides out. This insert allows you to adjust the weight of the mouse with a set of small weights, 4-4 gram weights and 4-7 gram weights.

Performance

This mouse boasts 3200 dpi, while not the highest in the gaming industry, it is all you really need. Anything higher than this is overkill. I also own a Razer Lachesis that goes up to 4000 dpi and I was never able to use it at full settings. The G9 is a great mouse for gamer and graphic designers alike. The dpi and the transfer speed give it great accuracy for gaming and all your Photoshop needs.

The only gripe I have about this mouse is that the buttons for changing the scroll wheel mode and changing profiles is on the bottom of the mouse. This doesn’t affect the performance at all but it is an annoyance if you change the settings often, which I don’t.

The scroll wheel performs exactly like it should. I can scroll through my whole iTunes library in one flick of the scroll wheel (~7700 songs). This is a rather extreme use of the scroll wheel but it reduces the amount of scrolling you have to do as opposed to what your finger has to do with a normal clicky scroll wheel.

The G9 has some of the best feet of any mouse on the market today. They are made of Polytetrafluoroethylene (whatever that is) and they glide smoothly on virtually any surface and since this is a laser mouse, it can be used on pretty much any surface you can think of. I use mine on a Razer Destructor mouse pad which makes this mouse perform even better.

Software

This mouse uses Logitech Setpoint software. This is the same software that all Logitech mice use and it is fairly good. At first it may be confusing to figure out how to set up all the profiles and sensitivities, but once you figure it out it is fairly easy.

The Verdict

The Logitech G9 is the best mouse I have ever used. Logitech is a great company and the quality of this product has lead me to buy many other Logitech products. I would recommend this mouse to anyone. I would buy another one to use with my laptop if I ever had the need to. I would recommend this mouse over any Razer mouse I have ever tried. The amount of customization that is available far surpasses that of even the top of the line Razer. I do, however, recommend that, if you want the best performance with this mouse, get a high-quality mouse pad.

I give it two thumbs up!

There I was minding my own business, sitting in the Cafeteria eating some foods when I look out the window and I see a tree. Not just a normal tree. This was an Eye Tree. It was staring at me. It probably had like 40 eyes.

This was one of the eyes down near the bottom of the tree that I took later because my phone couldn’t get a good picture through the Window. THE TREE HAD FREAKIN EYES! ANIME EYES EVEN! IS THIS SOME SORT OF CHINESE SPY TREE? SHIT DUDE!

When closed, the screen latches but the right side sits a little higher than the left. I am worried that it will cause it to bounce when moving it around and I don’t want to know what that could do to my screen.

I was bored the other day and decided to write an email to Steve Jobs. I am really not expecting anything good to come out of it but it was fun to write. Maybe, Just maybe I will have pulled at his heart strings enough that he sends me a new laptop….. I am highly doubting it but apparently it has happened before.

One side of my laptop is bent. I have no idea how. I am completely dumbstruck. I have no idea what to do. I may have to buy apple care of something and get it replaced. Any ideas? I hope it isn’t messing with any components. It is screwing up the screen closing.

That is beside the point. I went there with a list of things I needed, all of which I didn’t find, but anyways, I was wandering around looking for something and I came across something that caught my eye. I was in the aisle where they sell letters for putting on your mailbox and at first I saw the words “FUCK” and “BAM”. I turned back to look again and this is what I saw.

This made me laugh. I pulled out my phone and took a picture and a group of people looked at me weird. As I walked away I heard people laughing from the aisle I was just in. These people in this town are the type of people who think that McCain is a good choice for president. These are the type of people who think Palin won the debate the other night. These are the fucking people who still think Bush was a good president.

One day I stumbled upon the Apple Airport Express on the Apple website. I was very interested in this item due to the wireless N capabilities and the compact size. The price is good: roughly the same as most other N routers but about a fourth the size. It being an Apple product means it has a clean design and is a very useful piece of hardware. I am a sucker for a clean, minimalistic design. When I pulled this out of the box I was like, “WhOa” and it was like, “Dude” and then I put it back in the box because I had no use for it.

Today I got the interwebs in my dorm room and got it all set up. Setting this thing up can be quite a drag. To set it up, you use the Airport Utility on your computer and it uses your wireless card in your computer to access it. This is the funny part so tune in now. You open up the software and it searches for the router. Sounds simple right? Riiiiiigghht. I had mine plugged in across the room and it didn’t pick it up. So I moved over to it…. Still Nothing! I set it ON my laptop and nothing happens. Finally I get the bright idea to reset it with the restart button and after restarting it, the computer found it no problem.

The software set up is super easy. You can use this item to extend your network or creating your own network. As you can see in the image above there is also a USB port and a 3.5mm Audio Jack. The USB port is used to connect a printer to your network. This works very well. The audio jack is used to run AirTunes. AirTunes is used to stream music from iTunes to the speakers connected to the Airport. Very useful.

The Verdict

This is a great product for expanding your Airport wireless network or setting up a small wireless network as in a dorm room. The speed is excellent and the price is good. Overall I recommend this to anyone who needs these things.

Another good use for this is one of those desktop coffee warmers. Set your coffee on this and it should be good all day… Until you spill it.
